About SPECIALISTS AT HAND

The creation of a company like Specialists At Hand Pty Ltd began with Margherita's wish to build a team of like-minded professionals to support the most vulnerable of children and their families, in their natural settings. She's building a group of professional, like-minded specialists who support everyone, and who specialise in children and young adults with developmental challenges.

Our specialists work in a family-centred, strength-based practice, engaging children in their natural environments. We not only work with our client, but also with parents and siblings, encouraging them to assist in the child’s development, advising how to best manage, play and support the child. We can also supply equipment to assist your child’s skills development.

Our team build the skills of children and their families with high quality, allied health services. An assessment is made, then a tailored program is developed, monitored, and reviewed, to promote the child’s development, access, and participation, in their home and community.

Intervention strategies employed are family-centred, and in accordance with evidence-based best practise, and the Victorian Early Learning and Development Framework (VELDEF), recognising the importance of working in partnerships with families. This family-centred intervention uses a strength-based approach, with goals set by the family. Families are supported to advocate for their child, and to extend their understanding of how to assist their child’s independence and autonomy.
